Workers' Compensation and Safety Claims

Employers Resource has developed one of the strongest Workers' Compensation and Safety Programs in the co-employment industry. Our experience and expertise is backed by a proactive approach that returns employees to work quickly, processes claims smoothly, and awards companies for implementing strong safety programs.

Nearly Double the Coverage

In most cases with the Employers Resource program, companies are insured under a national policy. The policy provides one million dollar Employers' Liability Limits (Coverage B, Part Two). This is nearly double the usual limit on policies issued to small businesses. There are many advantages to the Employers Resource/Workers' Compensation insurance:

  • No pre-payments
  • No year-end audits
  • Statutory benefit coverage
  • Increased employer liability limits
  • $1,000,000 - Bodily Injury - each accident
  • $1,000,000 - Bodily Injury - disease (policy limit)
  • $1,000,000 - Bodily Injury - disease (each employee)

Getting Employees Back to Work

Employers Resource operates on a strong return-to-work policy. Each work-related injury is aggressively managed by a team of experienced case managers. In addition, our highly-qualified workers' compensation staff oversees the managing of the claims. This proactive management of claims has the ultimate goal of returning injured employees to good health and back to work as quickly as possible.

Adjusters and/or nurse case-managers are in constant touch with health providers to make sure each injury is given the utmost attention and that the very best treatments are made available. It is personal interest that has a positive influence on both the employee and their imminent return to work.

Reduced Costs for Safe Companies

We were the first to offer our clients reduced workers' compensation costs through an incentive-based safety program. Discounts are offered to those companies who put proven safety measures in place. Now in its 12th year, this proactive program has produced superior results for its participants. Through the application of these safety concepts in the work environment, many injuries at the work site will be prevented. As a result, many companies will see a reduction in their claims, further reducing their costs.

Workers' Compensation Claims & Reporting Procedures

An effective workers' compensation program requires close cooperation between our clients, the designated claims administrator, and our Workers' Compensation Claims Department - the three principal parties involved in the resolution of an injured worker's claim. To achieve our goal of returning the injured to work in the most timely and cost-effective manner, we are asking that you follow the steps outlined below when reporting an accident.

Step #1

When an on-the-job accident occurs, the employee is required to report the injury to their supervisor. ALL INJURIES ARE TO BE REPORTED REGARDLESS OF THEIR SEVERITY OR THE NEED TO SEE A PHYSICIAN. Some injuries may appear insignificant at the time of injury; however, as time progresses, the need to see a physician could arise. It is our preference to have the injury reported prior to seeing a physician, so we can refer the injured to an approved medical provider.

Step #2

The injured employee's supervisor is to complete the Notice of Injury form attached and either call in details or FAX the form to our Workers' Compensation Claims Department at the number below. State penalties can be imposed if accidents are reported after the crucial 24-hour period. If no one is available when the phone call is placed, please leave a detailed voice mail message and we will return your call.

Claims Department Office Hours
8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (MST)
Phone: 1-800-775-2404

Step #3

If the employee needs to see a doctor, they will take a copy of the Authorization Form with them. This will ensure quicker payment. Any client that participates in the Safety Program needs to check the authorization section for post-injury drug testing, which is also on this form.

When all information regarding the injury is received, we will notify our workers' compensation insurance carrier. If necessary, the carrier will contact you to clarify any information regarding the accident. The carrier will also forward a letter to the injured employee should the employee have questions regarding their claim. Payments for provider bills and temporary disability are made by our carrier. Therefore, all invoices should be directed to them. Any questions regarding a claim can be directed to the Workers' Compensation Department at the number above.

Our job is to give our clients easy to follow guidelines and ready support to implement an effective Safety Program. We reward positive efforts and decreased work comp injuries with premium discounts. A strong Safety Program helps our clients control and reduce the direct and indirect costs associated with workers' compensation claims, and provides a quality workforce that is safety-oriented and productive. In order for a client to be eligible for our Safety Agreement, the estimated annual workers' compensation premium must be a minimum of $5,000.

Our workers' compensation team has over 50 years combined experience in risk management. Our Risk Assessment Manager is available to inspect your workplace and provide a detailed analysis of your business with recommendations to better protect you from work comp claims. Our Return-to-Work Specialist will work with your injured employee and their healthcare providers to get the employee safely back to work as soon as possible. This pro-active approach reduces claims and loss-time wages. The main components of our Safety Agreement are:

    • Loss Control Implementation Program
